I like Elephants

I like elephants. Elephants are the biggest land animals in the world. The African elephant is found on the continent of Africa and the Indian elephant is found in Asia. Elephants are mammals as well as herbivores, meaning they only eat plants rather than meat.
I know that there are two main types of elephants; the African elephant and the Indian elephant. The African elephant is bigger than the Indian elephant. It has larger ears too. Both the males and females have tusks. The African elephant has wrinkly gray skin, a swayed back, and two tips at the end of its trunk that it can use like fingers to pick stuff up. The tusk make elephant look really cool.
The Indian, or Asian, elephant is smaller than the African elephant and has smaller ears. They have more of a humped back and only one fingerlike tip at the end of their trunk. Also, their skin tends to be less wrinkly than the African elephant. Next time go to the zoo. I want to ride an elephant.

 The Giraffes

Giraffes are truly giant animals. They amaze me. I like giraffes because their long neck. They can grow up to 17 feet tall and weigh as much as 3,000 pounds. The male giraffes, called bulls, are typically larger than the females, called cows. The babies aren’t exactly small either. A baby giraffe, called a calf, is 6 feet tall at birth! Giraffes also have large hearts. Their hearts can be up to 2 feet long and weigh over 20 pounds. They need these large hearts to pump blood all the way up their long necks.
It is always fun to watch giraffes eat from the tree. Their favorite types of leaves are from the acacia tree. Giraffes are herbivores, meaning they eat plants rather than meat. They use their long necks and tongues (which they can stick out up to a foot and a half!) to get to leaves on trees. A typical full-grown adult giraffe will eat over 70 pounds of leaves, twigs, and fruit each day. Giraffes don’t need to drink water very often because there is so much water in the leaves they eat. However, when they do drink water, they can drink several gallons at a time. I think this is not good because a giraffe has to bend down and get into a vulnerable position when drinking. Not a good idea when there are lions sneaking around!

I like Kangaroos

Kangaroos is my favourite animal. The Red Kangaroo is the largest of all the Kangaroos. They live throughout much of the country of Australia and are the largest mammal that lives in Australia. Its scientific name is Macropus rufus. Kangaroos are herbivores. They get their name from the color of the male’s fur which is a reddish brown. They mostly graze on grasses.
A male Red Kangaroo can jump up to 30 feet in one jump! They can also use their jumping ability to travel quickly at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Somedoy I want to go to Australia to meet a kangaroo.

Dolphins

I really interested in the dolphins. They are one of the most playful and intelligent animals on our planet. Even though dolphins spend their lives in the water, they are not fish, but are mammals. Dolphins can’t breathe water like fish, but need to come to the surface to breath air.
Dolphins eat other smaller fish, but they eat squid, too, and some dolphins, like Killer Whales, will often eat small sea mammals like seals and penguins. Dolphins often hunt together, herding fish into packed groups or into inlets where they can be easily caught. Some dolphins will share their food with the young or let the young catch injured prey as practice. They don’t chew their food, they swallow it whole. Dolphins get the water they need from the animals they eat, rather than drinking ocean water.
Dolphins have excellent eyesight and hearing. Underwater they use echolocation. Echolocation is kind of like sonar where dolphins make a sound and then listen to the echo. Dolphin is also tame animal that people can play with.

Camel

The camel is the weirdest camel I ever see. it most famous for the large humps on its back. They live in the deserts.
Camels can eat most any type of vegetation including dry, thorny, or bitter plants that other animals may not want to eat. Their digestive system is tough and they have been known to eat dead carcasses, clothing, and even shoes when extremely hungry.
Camels store fat in their humps. This fat can be converted to water and energy when they haven’t had food or water to drink for some time. Once they have used up all the fat in their humps, the humps become thin and floppy.
However what I like most about camels is their face. it looks so funny.

My Dog

I have a beautiful dog. He is my baby, and he is sweet like a vanilla ice cream. He is really cute, and he is like a little baby, because he is very lovely. When he was a baby he was like a little cat, because his ears are like catís ears and because he doesnít likes take a bath.
He is not big, but not small. He is black and white like a cartoon cow. His eyes are blue like two pieces of sky, and they are bright like clean glasses. His name is Lobo, because he is like a real wolf, and because he wails like a wolf too.
He is a Siberian Husky, and this is the reason why he is like a wolf. He makes me Very happy, and I love him with all my heart, and I think that he loves me too, and I am going to take care of him, and love him all my life.

Benny, My Cockatoo Bird

Benny is the name of my cockatoo. I bought him a year ago at the bird market. I was interested in buying this bird because he was funny and had a good voice.
Benny has white color. He had a beautiful yellow crest on his head. His legs are brownish color. His eyes are small and clear. He also has pointy beak.
Every morning I feed him some corn. Sometimes I give him vegetables like carrots and broccoli. Once in a while I give him apples and bananas.
Benny and I are like close friends. When I'm sad he can entertain me with his melodious voice. When I am happy, he looks very happy too.

BUTTERFLY

Butterflies are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings.like all insects, they have six legs, three body parts, a pair of antennae, and compound eyes. The three body parts are the head, thorax (the chest), and abdomen (the tail end). The four wings and the six legs of the butterfly are connected to the thorax. The thorax contains the muscles that make the legs and wings move. Butterflies ere very good fliers. They have two pairs, of large wings covered with colourful scales. Butterflies and moths are the only insects that have scaly wings. The wings are connected to the butterfly’s thorax (mid-section). Butterflies can only fly if their body temperature is above 27 degrees Centigrade. Butterflies sun themselves to warm up in cool weather. As butterflies get older, the colour of the wings fades and the wings become ragged. The speed varies among butterfly species (the poisonous varieties are slower than noun – poisonous varieties). The fastest butterflies can fly at about 50 kilometers per hour (kph) or faster. Slow flying butterflies fly about 8 kph.

Contoh Teks Descriptive "Panda"

Have you ever wathc the cartoon movie "Kung fu Panda"? But the Panda that would be described below is not the Panda who can do Kung fu like in that movie. Pada is the icon of the Chinese country becasue its unik. Here are the desciption about Panda.

Giant pandas are bear-like in shape with striking black and white markings. The "Giant" Pandas are hardly "Giants". It would take about forty (40) giant pandas to weigh as much as one elephant. Adult giant pandas have a length of 160 to 180 centimeters (5 1/4 to 6 feet). The weight of an adult male giant panda is normally between 80 and 125 kilograms (176 and 276 pounds) with males typically weighing about 10% to 20% more than females -- about the same size as theAmerican black bear. However, unlike the black bear, giant pandas do not hibernate and cannot walk on their hind legs.

Giant panda bears have a massive head, heavy body, short tail (approximately 5 inches), rounded ears and plantigrade feet (i.e., both heel and toe make contact with the ground when walking in a manner similar to humans). The throat of the giant panda has an esophagus with a tough, horny lining to protect the bear from injury by bamboo splinters. The stomach is similarly protected with its thick muscular wall linings.Giant pandas have forepaws which are extremely flexible. They have an enlarged wrist bone (the radial sesamoid) that works in the manner of an opposable thumb. This highly functional thumb allows the panda to manipulate bamboo stems and leaves, with dexterity and precision. The hind feet of the giant panda lacks the heel pad found in the other seven bear species.

The basic fur color of the giant panda is white with black eye patches, ears, legs, feet, chest, and shoulders. White areas are different shades of white from pure white to orangish or a light brown. Within its natural environment (the deep forest and, at upper elevations, snow androck), its mottled coloringprovides camouflage. There is also speculation that its striking color pattern may be a clear message to other pandas to stay away since the giant panda is an extremely solitary animal. The fur of the giant panda is thick and coarse. It consists of a coarse outer layer and a very dense, wooly-like underfur. To the touch, the fur feels oily. This oily protective coating helps protects pandas from the cool and damp climate in which the bear lives.

Giant pandas generally move in a slow, determined manner. When startled, they will move at a slow trot to escape danger. Giant pandas, with their sharp claws, are capable of climbing trees very easily. Giant panda cubs are born weighing 3 to 5 ounces or about 4-5 grams each (1/900th of the mother's weight) The cubs are born blind and hairless. At about 10 days the skin where the black hair will eventually grow turns gray.
